Circle K-D Trail Riders Club

Who is Circle K-D?

Circle K-D Trail Riders began with a small group of riding enthusiasts in 1943. Beginning with an arena near downtown Sycamore, Illinois, the club purchased the property at the current location in the 1970's. Circle K-D, which stands for Kendall and DeKalb counties, is made up of horse lovers from throughout northern Illinois. We strive to promote activities for riders of all disciplines, skill levels, backgrounds and interests.

Each year, Circle K-D hosts several horse shows including a Warm-Up Show, a Formal Show, Fun Shows and a Halloween Show. Classes in all shows are open, and spectators are always welcome!

Throughout the summer, we hold Play Nights on Thursday evenings for members. These are mini, casual horse shows with classes for all ages and skill levels. While many come out to ride for fun, some to practice for the show ring. Play nights consist of a pleasure class, a horsemanship class, two speed events and one fun class. Classes are divided into 4 age groups: 12 & under, 13-20 and 21-30, & over 30. Casual attire is worn, but boots or riding shoes with heels are required for all riders.

As our name suggests, Circle K-D can also be found on equestrian trails throughout the Midwest. Some are day rides at local areas, while others may be overnight trips to some of the areas most picturesque scenery. We schedule 1-2 trail rides each month. Check the calendar frequently for upcoming trail ride dates.

You can also find us riding in local parades,

including Belvidere, Sycamore, Hampshire, and Kirkland.
